Education as a Structuring Axis of Digital Transformation in Health

 


Digital transformation in health does not occur in a single, homogeneous, or linear way. Different technologies, forms of documentation, information practices, and access conditions coexist, requiring educational strategies capable of responding to diverse contexts.

In this article published by Jornal da USP, Prof. Dr. Maria Cristiane Barbosa Galvão discusses education as a structuring axis of digital transformation in health. The education of health professionals, patients, family members, and caregivers must go beyond the instrumental use of digital tools. It should integrate health information, data quality and intelligence, digital health, artificial intelligence, communication, and critical analysis of the social implications of technologies.

Preparing people for digital transformation means enabling them to understand the technological context in which they operate, the resources available, their limitations, and how to use them ethically, safely, and in socially appropriate ways.
