In this session, Miguel Sojo, B.A. in Translation and Interpretation from the Universidad Central de Venezuela and a professional Spanish-English-German conference interpreter, shared his experience and reflections on the challenges of communication, translation, and interpretation in emergency contexts.
The discussion addressed important issues such as communication with affected families, the role of interpreters and translators during emergencies, access to reliable information, the work of journalists and volunteers in affected areas, psychological and professional challenges, and lessons learned from the Venezuelan experience.
